ATC provides professional swimming and lifesaving instruction and lane rental – all year round!

The waters on the North Coast can be rough, making it dangerous for children and adults who spend time in and around the ocean. Drownings occur far too often in the Cabarete / Sosúa area because unfortunately, very few people know how to swim and there is limited access to professional swimming instruction.

We at Aquatics Training Cabarete (ATC) understand this challenge and are here to help.

Your children and you will learn how to feel comfortable in and around the water, swim, and learn critical lifesaving skills from our licensed instructors — in a fun and secure environment.

¹ Instructors are sponsored by Swim for Life from Lifesaving Society of Canada, The Lifeguarding Experts.

Our instructors follow the standards set by Lifesaving Society of Canada. Programs focus on: Entries and Exits, Underwater Skill, Swim to Survive, Movement and Swim Skills, Aquatic Education, Surface Support, Safety Education and Fitness.

By investing in your child’s swimming education at InspireDR’s ATC, you can directly support underserved boys in our program by allowing them similar opportunity to learn to swim.

Saving Lives and Building Careers

In a country where 80% of the population does not know how to swim, far too many people drown every year. More so on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic where the currents and dangerous waters, and winds of the North Atlantic are boundless.

Life saving skills and professional lifeguard training and certifications were almost nonexistent until InspireDR partnered with Happy Dolphins, another Cabarete-based NGO, and started professionally training Cabarete lifeguards in 2019.

In a town known for water sports, having the training and skills to prevent swimming accidents is a valuable skill that you can offer local youth, by simply providing quality water-safety education to your own children.
